Cuba: "La Nochebuena"

Under the rule of Fidel Castro and the Communists Christmas is no official occasion for celebration. Nevertheless there are Chrismassy traditions in Cuba as well. After all 70 per cent of the 11 million inhabitants of Cuba are descendants of Spanish immigrants.

So the Holy Night (La Nochebuena) is celebrated in many families with a festive meal. And there are Masses at midnight as well. On the 6th of January, the feast of Epiphany, children are pleased with little presents.
